THE LABELS
At Morgado do Quintão, we were one of the first wine producers in Portugal to remove the name of our estate from front and centre of our bottles, allowing abstracted design to communicate our vision.
By understanding and reflecting on our cultural heritage and paying close creative attention to the artwork on our bold and graphic wine labels we are not afraid to tap into contemporary conversations and look at these important visual elements with a permanently renewed sense of interest.
We draw poetic inspiration from elements that inform our purpose; the big blue Atlantic, the Algarve's dramatic beaches, the Monchique mountains or the linear stripes that make reference to the uniformed, traditional arrangement of our old vines and the way we walk through them.
Whether at the estate or around the world, we work with a commitment to contributing to a bigger cultural dialogue, one influenced by our values and our creative pursuits, in an attempt to connect tradition with today.
ARTISTS RESIDENCE
Inspired by our creative heritage and the long history of craftsmanship in the Algarve, in order to promote art, culture and education, Morgado do Quintão offers creative individuals an inspiring environment in which they can produce enduring works of imagination through an artist residency program.
Our artists residency programs honour our mother, Teresa Pereira Caldas de Vasconcellos (1941-2017), a visual artist, painter and sculptor whose work transcends the boundaries of her legacy.
The funding for ‘Morgado do Quintão Art/Innovation’ comes from a percentage of the proceeds from Morgado do Quintão’s yearly activities as well as private donations and grants.
